STB Hacking

Is STB Hacking still a thing.....im pretty proficient with Modem hacking....hell ive even done it without a modded firmware using dynamiclly encrypted configs xD (obviously i wont say how) but anyway ya....i recently acquired a STB Model DCT2524 and im wondering if its still possible to hack these or clone them....can someone point me in the right direction? im a NOOB in this sector and any and all info ive found on the subject is very vague.......for obvious reasons im guessing, but if there is some kind of "underground site" someone can point me to or anything at all to get me started.....what cables i need etc or anything else i might need that would be wonderful and remember....im doing this for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY Wink

i have a copy of Stormwatch-II if anybody wants it PM me your E-mails.....ill send it to you....is not of much use other than the fact that you can scan a entire HFC IP Range for modems, search for a Modem by MAC Address if you know the HFC IP and Changing the firmwares on modems.......also i have a bunch of modem firmwares too, .p7 files just in case anyone wants those too just ask me if i have the version your looking for and ill tell you if i have it Smile and if anyone using SnmpCfgAdmin wants a list of OID`s they can use to change modem settings etc i have a text file filled with all different ones that you probably will not find anywhere online.....

For those of you who may be sketchy about it i have attached a screenshot as proof i have what i say i have Smile

Just sharing something interesting on here for a change. Don't have too much information on it besides the pictures below. If anyone wants one I can direct you to the source @ $200. EDIT: No further modems modems are available.This is not a retail modem, but for developers/testers. This is a "diagnostics modem". As you might know TI is the original developer of the puma5 chipset that forceware runs on. Feel free to share this on SBH as I don't have an account there anymore.


Before you complain, I left the images oversized on purpose. Note the upgradable memory and serial header.

How to manually inject certs into SBG6580

Im wondering if anyone has some experience with manually injecting Certificates into the NVRAM region of a flash.

Specifically the SBG6580. I have a pile of certs that i have remotely pulled from 6580's via SNMP. and they work fine in forceware. But i also have a bunch of SBG6580's here that i would like to use in a 1:1 stock clone mode.


I have dumped the NVRAM of a legit subbed 6580, and put it onto one of my 6580s successfully, and it works fine. But the certs i remotely pulled are in separate files format (private.key, public.key , cm.cer, ca.cer, etc....)

and i want to copy these files into a 6580 NVRAM.

If anyone has any ideas or working method i would appreciate it.

I have this haxorware 5101 modem,, im subscribed to internet service, is it possible to use this modem, it would save me a rental fee.. if it is possible what do the settings need to be on when i give the provider the mac address on it so they can activate it.. thanks

SBG6580 twerking help

Hi all,

I am a newbie to this forum but not to werld of console, phone, misc electronic tweaking and twerking. My question is what do I need to gain access to my modem for modifying? Is jtag the only way or can gain access via ethernet connection/network.

I have done some searching but my ADD has me going in circles trying to make sense of it! A tutorial would be awesome if someone could please point me in that direction.

Short story is I want to change my docsis 2.0 modem to a docsis 3.0 and I need to change it's mac.

certs

hi lads {new to this } can i get certs from my friends modem even if hes subscription is disabled. do i need to have an active modem to get certs ?. in my own area i can get online without adding certs in haxware 38 but if i try my modem in an other area it hangs on send. so do i have to add certs for it to work in this other area .PS we use the same provider.thanks for any help lads

if i have my own config file that i have subbed to, and i was to edit it and try changing the speed,, is there a easy way to just have my modem download the edited one instead of the one pushed from the i.p. provider.. using a subbed modem not haxorware? thanks

How detectable is a Mass SNMP Walk

Say for example i was walking thousands upon thousands off modems....how detectable would that be? would they notice it fairly easy? im gonna go with YES but i just want some other peoples opinions and would they see my Public IP in the logs as the source or would they see my modemd HFC IP

Anyone know how to find the seed the isp uses for arris modems....i have the POWD generator but they changed their seed so it doesn't work....there must be an OID or something that will cough up the seed isnt there?

Hello to all OK i use to be at sbhack.nxxxx for a very long time.
I am now at premiere TV. (premieretv.createaforum.com)
OK i would like to ask were did sbhacker.nxxx go.
OK i have The Sb5101 and the latest firmware from
hoax is..We still use the one that we used on Sb 5101.
Ok i can still tay my modems which i dont need to but has new
bedded software or can we still use old hoax..

1.I like the hoax so can we still use it or do we have jtag it to something else..(keep in mind) There is not much security on my paid sub which i be using this as a second one...

I was reading around and found this story about "OneStep" a software some guy built and traded over a bunch of chatrooms it was basically a point and click software to uncap your modem apparently it got him in a lot of trouble but it seems like a great program (given it would still work) but i cant find the actual software anywhere but would love to have it. Has anyone ever heard of this or acutally seen it? Read Here

16x4 DG1670 Puma6

Anyone got their hands on the new Puma6 (Atom?) 16x4 modems? I extracted the firmware for a DG1670 and it looks pretty interesting, I have to wonder if its modifiable or if they are using some type of secure boot now.

It's also hilarious how the DG1670 has a snmpwalk/get/set web interface built into it.

http://d-h.st/UPDU is the firmware image I have if anyone wants to have a look. Extraction is possible with binwalk and sasquash, there are 3 squashfs images.
