Forcing config files

Hello all. I am testing an ISP that still allows spoofing MAC address and BPI is not required (I know it's ridiculous in 2014). I can spoof and get the speed of that modem's config. However, is there a way in which I can force my own modified config file? I'm familiar with using VultureWare.

The modem will not get past IP Complete which is expected because of "Neg Or Bad Reg Rsp - Reinitialize MAC..." I'm quite sure even on this ISP forcing configs is gone.

What do you guys think?

Can I hack it?

What can I do with it?

Is it better than my NetGear N900 / WNDR4500?

First of all; I apologize for being a newb. I've searched and searched and I'm having no luck. My config page is no longer accesible, modem is connected directly to pc. No coax. I've gone and tried to change through tcp settings and still no luck. If I can get to config page (192.168.100.1) I'm sure I can fix it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your patience, and understanding .. ....
I do not mean to disrespect so if I do I apologize.

SB6121 speed cap?

hello haxorware gents,

I have a SB6121, got a JTAG and flashed it to the latest forceware. All the settings are familiar and I *hope* to see how far I can push learning about DOCSIS 3 and what I can accomplish.

Right now I have a TWC sub, 10/1 Mbps, and the modem. Would the next step be getting a mac from another CMTS with a higher sub or does it involve getting a full cert set? For testing purposes of course.

cheers-

I'm trying to figure out how to get this modem working again. I've had it for 3 years.

The power and pc activity are the only two lights that blink and never gets past that. it just stopped working out of the blue a week ago. I can not seem to access the routers management page. I suspect the modem may have a mac address problem. Can't verify whether or not this is the case. Nor can I seem to flash anything using my parallel cable Jtag because there is no port for it on my computer.

What could be wrong?

Modem stays "online" (all leds up) but its actually offline

Hi there my friends.

I have a question Big Grin !

I have 2 modems, one legitimate and the other a 5101 with haxorware latest version.

Sometimes, both modems lose the signal and drop the connection.

The true modem shows (by their leds) that it indeed lost the signal (online power led ON and the rest blinking) but the modem with haxorware stay like its online (all leds firmly lit, and the ethernet blinking).

After the signal comes back, the original modem gets online straightfoward but the haxor one still there, thinking its online.

Anyone knows what might cause this ?

Thanks for the help Tongue

Hello, I'm trying to get my SB6120 to work. I followed the tutorial on how to rename and upload the certs to the SB6120. I also changedd the nic IP. The modem gets provisioned but I don't get online.

I want to get back to uncapping

Gentlemen!

Ten years ago, was the last time I had anything to do with modem hacking. It was DOCSIS 1.1 and I was using simple LPT JTAG on SB4200/5100.

Nowadays seem completely different (this is the last place on the web where we can talk about CMH without any fee Tongue)
I got myself a nice DOCSIS 3.0 modem EPC3208 - and I have no equipment/knowledge how to get into it. My old blackcat is useless (because new motherboards don't have LPT), and so is my old serial cable...

I need Your advice on this:
1. What cable do I need to buy/solder to make a flash dump??
2. What cable do I need to "talk" to a console?

What do I want to achieve? Two simple things:
1. Backup
2. Communicate with modem in order to change its MAC and serial

I will be grateful for any info/links/pdf's
