HFC IP Address
Hi guys,
I wanted to find out what my HFC IP address is for my sub cm so I used DHCP Force but I got some strange results this time. The HFC IP was not in a 10.X.X.X range. Also no config file came up and TFTP Server IP was 0.0.0.0. However, I did input a different mac in DHCP Force and I did get an HFC IP in a 10.X.X.X range.
I'm aware that CC took over TWC and was wondering if that had to do with it.
I'm not looking for macs as that hasn't worked in a while. I just wanted to find out my HFC IP address range.
So the question is, Does HFC IP address always range in 10.X.X.X? Any other thoughts?

Greetings fellow speed freaks. New user here, Love the site. A great wealth of information on this site. Quick bio: It has been a long time since I've found my self Googling alternative uses for SB modems. Many years ago, Maybe 8 or so, A friend and I stumbled on a site, SBsomething. Our area was and still is dominated by BH for high speed internet. At the time our paid speeds were pretty slow and DOCSIS3 was on the horizon. Newer to the private P2P scene and obsessed with more speed and anonymity, We bought a Jtagged Sb5101 which came with utilities, Data and hardware. We were able to flash a store bought unit as well so we could both learn together. We quickly learned of editing .cfg files, Scanning and spoofing and all around SNMP deviousness. It seemed to last a while until I remember some turd selling them on CL under the guise of being untraceable. Anonymous CP was the pressing media fight and BH has some ass clown getting taking their money in the process. Nothing much seemed to happen, At first, Then error logs started maxing out with foreign events, random reboots and constant crashes. Then one day the normal "fixes" weren't working, No matter the config or MAC. I checked my paid box and all was good. My friend was the same. I checked the local area of said site and found the same with others. They had made a massive change in our local system and the exploit had been fixed. Reports of users on other nodes on the same ISP but in different regions, still showed working boxes. Our CMTS or our boxes had been changed. Flashing made no difference. We hoped docsis 3.0 and the rumors of better gear would get us back up but with time, I gave up and my friend died recently. I think of him often. I found my brothers last box today, A sbg6580 that came with BH subscription. I'm curious and would like to know if a custom sbg6580 would be viable in this area with similar advantages as the blacklisted SB5101 we used to use?

Macbook EFI password removal
I am trying ways of getting rid of firmware EFI passwords on newer macbook's. Back in the day all you had to do was change the ram configuration, do a COPR key sequence at reboot and the password was erased. Now it's not so easy. I see gadgets on ebay and new ATMEL flash chips available to solder on, much like the newer PC laptops with the dreaded bios password.
My question is, do you think a USB Jtag NT could be used to flash the chip and remove the efi password?
I saw a method posted online to use a OSX 10.5 disc and use the firmware password reset utility and I tried it and it worked on a Macbook Pro (late 2011) running OSX 10.7, but the same method will not work on my MBP pro early 2011 running mavericks. It says it was successful but when I reboot, it is not.. just bored and playing around trying to learn something here.
Anyone else care to try it?

My ISP does not allow any other modems except the one they supply which is the Cisco DPC 3825. http://www.cisco.com/web/consumer/suppor...ser-guides
I cant Log into this modem if its bridged. Which it currently is cause its hooked up to the nighthawk router. I can always un bridge it by calling customer service they control this.
Can this router be flashed. If I do flash it and than I re-bridge that's when the ISP does the bridging at their end.

All of a sudden TW activation page
Does anybody else have the issue with all of a sudden sb6120 is still showing online in system logs but cannot access internet? All status lights are fine but get kicked to activation page ... Pretty weird .. Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated .. Thanks fellas

Connection drops with haxorware SB5101 with Time Warner
Hey my setup has worked fine for many years. I have several SB5101 modems flashed with haxorware running on Time Warner's network in the SouthEastern US. About a week ago all my modems will boot up and right after it completes the entire registration process, it drops the Ethernet connection to my router/pc. The modem still appears to be online judging by the lights. But soon as the internet should be up, I can't even ping the modem anymore, when I had just been watching the haxorware status screen only moments earlier. The last message I can see in the event log is:
I001.0 REG-RSP - invalid format or not recognized
Anyone seen this before? I'm not sure if Time Warner has been changing their setup in this area, but I'm worried this might be a BPI security upgrade? Before I was using BPI+ Bypass, and just changing the MAC address. Is this the symptoms of when they start requiring signed certificates?

5101, no lights after loading hax v39
Hi,
I loaded hax v39 using parallel jtag. No errors but when I reset modem I see no booting lights at all. I have heard that it might be the standby button might be the cause because hax disable standby button. Is there a way to work around this issue?

From all the supported devices: SB5101/E/i, SB5102/E/i, Webstar DPC2100R2, RCA DCM425, Ambit 250/255/256, Netgear CG814WGv2
In your experience, which one is better overall to use hax on? I have heard good opinions on Netgear and also that 5101 tends to be unstable.
